Comparison Study on Family Crime Accidents according to Parental Gender Suffering from Hardships of Life

Abstract
Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the actual condition of Korea filicide from parents suffering from poverty life in Korea.

Method: Study object material was analyzed by using SAS system 9.1 targeting domestic total 84 filicide cases entered in Scientific Crime Analysis System (SCAS) from 2009 to 2012.

Result: The ratio of filicide offender was higher in mother than father. While in case of fathers in their more than 40s, largely murdered their sons more than 15 years old because of family trouble and hardships of life, in case of mothers in their 30~40s, largely murdered their children under age of 7 because of mental disorder like depression and poverty. The chance of filcide the same gender children was high as much as 3 times than one of opposite gender children, and the chance of trying committing a suicide after killing their children was high as much as 1.49 for parents suffering from melancholy, 2.86 for parents having poverty.

Conclusion: Therefore, objective statistic work and social institutional support and precautionary measure for filicide based on this study result should be arranged and restructure of right sense of value on family are necessary.
